Delicado Foods is a Spanish providore, tapas wine bar and restaurant and since the end of May, 2008 has an adjacent complementary boutique wine store called appropriately, Delicado Wines. The store is the brainchild of sommelier/owner Ben Moechtar and is driven by the passion of his partner Ambie Moore and her mother, Chrissie Moore.
In 2001 the Spanish Commercial Office in Sydney sent Ben, who was working at the time as a wine journalist and sommelier, on a gourmet tour to Barcelona and the surrounding territories in eastern Spain. The result of this experience was a determination to recreate for others, “a taste of Spain” for those not able to make the journey or for those who wished to revisit those memories.
